Responsibilities
- Act as a technical expert in support of HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical systems for design projects within a multidisciplinary engineering team.
- Serve as the lead mechanical engineer, providing technical and design services throughout project development and execution.
- Perform heating and cooling load calculations, system sizing, and energy analyses to support efficient building performance.
- Direct and conduct technical evaluations of mechanical equipment and building systems, preparing engineering calculations and assessments.
- Be responsible for completing mechanical engineering design tasks within budget and on schedule.
- Communicate and coordinate technical designs, reports, and correspondence with project managers, clients, architects, and other engineering disciplines.
- Conduct field investigations and site assessments to evaluate existing building systems and resolve construction-related challenges.
- Review, approve, and seal engineering drawings, specifications, and construction documents as required.
- Mentor junior engineers and designers, providing technical guidance and support.
- Stay current with local, state, and federal building codes, ASHRAE standards, and industry best practices.
Skill Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (BSME).
- Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
- 7+ years of relevant mechanical engineering design experience.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical building systems.
- High proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit.
- Thorough understanding of building codes, ASHRAE guidelines, and sustainable design principles.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
- Self-starter with strong technical aptitude and project management capabilities.
