The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering high-quality civil and structural engineering solutions for data center developments across the region.

Key Responsibilities

• Support structural concept development, feasibility studies, value engineering assessments, cost evaluations, and detailed design management for data center projects, while providing technical guidance during construction phases.
• Develop and review structural design solutions, leveraging expertise in building and structural systems, construction methodologies, and industry best practices. Manage and coordinate external consultants and design teams to ensure quality, efficiency, and compliance with project objectives.
• Oversee structural engineering deliverables throughout the project lifecycle, including design reviews, technical compliance, bid support activities, and contractor design management.
• Coordinate geotechnical engineering activities, including the review and interpretation of site investigation reports, evaluation of soil conditions, foundation recommendations, excavation support systems, and earthworks strategies. Ensure alignment between geotechnical and structural requirements while managing project risks and constructability considerations.
• Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams to optimize engineering solutions, resolve technical challenges, and improve project outcomes throughout design and construction stages.
• Participate in inspection, testing, commissioning, and handover activities related to structural works, ensuring compliance with project specifications and quality standards.
• Manage technical changes, project coordination activities, and post-construction engineering matters as required.
• Engage with consultants, clients, authorities, contractors, and suppliers to ensure effective communication, coordination, and successful project delivery.

Requirements

Education & Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or higher in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Strong understanding of structural engineering standards, building codes, and design practices, including local regulations and internationally recognized standards such as American and British codes.
• Familiarity with design approval processes, permitting requirements, and regulatory frameworks across Southeast Asian countries.
• Knowledge of commonly used structural materials, construction methods, and engineering practices within Malaysia, Indonesia, and the broader Southeast Asia region.
• Experience working with regional design standards, construction requirements, and project acceptance procedures.

Experience

• Minimum 8 years of experience in structural engineering design and project management within Southeast Asia, preferably in Malaysia, Indonesia, or neighboring markets.
• Demonstrated experience delivering structural engineering solutions for data centers, industrial facilities, manufacturing plants, logistics hubs, or large-scale warehouse developments.
• Experience with structural strengthening, rehabilitation, and retrofit works is advantageous.
• Proven ability to independently execute conceptual, schematic, and detailed structural designs for large industrial and commercial projects.
• Strong technical background in reinforced concrete and steel structure design, including structural calculations and engineering analysis.
• Experience with underground structures and geotechnical-related works, including site investigations, pile foundations, basements, excavation support systems, and foundation engineering.

• Excellent communication and stakeholder management capabilities, able to engage with both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Fluent in English, both written and verbal.
