Sr. Construction PM (Advanced Defense Manufacturing)
Senior Construction Project Manager (Advanced Defense Manufacturing)
About the Organization
We are a nationally recognized, award‑winning corporate real estate advisory firm specializing exclusively in representing occupiers. Our Construction Project Management practice acts as an owner's representative and third‑party construction manager for some of the most dynamic companies in the country, guiding clients through complex projects with independent, conflict‑free expertise.
We are currently seeking a Senior Construction Project Manager to join our Orange County team, supporting a growing portfolio of Hardware Technology, Advanced Manufacturing, and defense‑related projects.
The Role
As Senior PM, you will serve as the client's owner's representative on the ground, functioning as a trusted extension of their internal team. You will be their eyes, advocate, and subject‑matter expert across all facets of construction.
This is not a GC or developer role-you will represent the client's interests exclusively, managing the full project team on their behalf and ensuring every decision aligns with their goals, budget, and timeline.
This is a high‑visibility role with direct exposure to executive‑level stakeholders, technically demanding project types, and meaningful ownership over project outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Full lifecycle owner's rep / third‑party CM oversight of multiple concurrent Hardware Technology, Advanced Manufacturing, and commercial construction projects-from programming and design through completion and closeout
- Day‑to‑day leadership of complex, mission‑critical projects with direct accountability to client executives
- Development and management of project budgets, schedules, and client‑defined milestones, independent of GC or design‑team interests
- Procurement, assembly, and leadership of complete project teams on the client's behalf (architects, engineers, GCs, and specialty contractors)
- Mentorship and management of up to two internal project managers or project engineers
- Review and negotiation of change orders, oversight of invoicing, TI allowance reimbursement management, and project closeout from the owner's perspective
- Review of leases and Work Letters for construction‑related provisions, in coordination with internal advisors
- Ongoing collaboration with internal team members and client stakeholders as project requirements evolve
What We're Looking For
- 7-10 years of construction project management experience, ideally including owner's rep, third‑party CM, or client‑side PM work
- Strong preference for candidates with Hardware Technology or Advanced Manufacturing experience
- GC or subcontractor backgrounds welcomed, provided candidates demonstrate a genuine shift toward owner‑side advocacy
- Design‑Build experience strongly preferred
- Proven ability to manage and hold accountable external vendors and design consultants while leading internal junior team members
- High proficiency in Bluebeam, Microsoft Excel, Word, and Microsoft Project
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including comfort presenting to C‑suite stakeholders
- Self‑directed, deadline‑driven, and capable of managing multiple active projects in a fast‑paced environment
- Local candidates only (Orange County)
Compensation & Details
- Competitive base salary ranging from $150,000-$190,000, depending on experience
- Comprehensive benefits and long‑term growth opportunities
- Mix of in‑office and onsite project work, based out of the Orange County office
- Regular travel to project sites as required
- Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Construction Management, Engineering, or Architecture
