Key Responsibilities
- Site Feasibility & Selection: Assess technical viability of potential sites for power generation and interconnection facilities.
- Technology Evaluation: Research and recommend optimal technologies and OEMs for projects including CCGT, SCGT, solar PV, and energy storage.
- Plant Design & Modeling: Collaborate with internal teams and contractors to develop plant layouts and performance models for permitting, interconnection, and financial analysis.
- Interconnection & Infrastructure: Lead technical aspects of interconnection requests and evaluate infrastructure requirements such as fuel, water, and site access.
- Site Layout & Permitting: Prepare site drawings and provide technical documentation to support permitting and compliance processes.
- Financial Modeling & Due Diligence: Deliver technical inputs for financial models and manage Independent Engineer (IE) reviews during project financing.
- Construction & Handover: Support construction activities and ensure seamless knowledge transfer to asset management teams.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or related engineering discipline.
- 5-10 years of experience in engineering roles related to power plant design, operations, and interconnection.
- Strong understanding of FERC interconnection processes, transmission planning standards, and design codes (IBC, NEC, ASME, NFPA).
- Proficient in creating facility design drawings (P&IDs, electrical schematics, SCADA) and skilled in technical communication.
- Preferred: AutoCAD, PVSyst, PMP certification, and/or PE license
