Stormwater Engineer

Our client, a leading civil and environmental engineering firm, is seeking a Stormwater Engineer to support a growing portfolio of transportation and land development projects across Maryland. This is a full-time position based in either the Baltimore or Frederick office, with opportunities for hybrid work depending on project needs.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in stormwater management and water resources engineering, with experience delivering projects in compliance with Maryland Department of the Environment (MDE) and local jurisdictional requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and analysis of stormwater management systems for transportation and land development projects
  • Preparation of construction documents, drainage reports, and permit applications
  • Hydrologic and hydraulic modeling using tools such as TR-20, TR-55, HEC-RAS, and HydroCAD
  • Coordination with clients, regulatory agencies, and multidisciplinary project teams
  • Support in project planning, budgeting, and scheduling
  • Mentorship of junior engineers and technical staff

Qualifications:

  • B.S. or M.S. in Civil or Environmental Engineering
  • 4 to 10 years of relevant experience in stormwater and water resources engineering
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in Maryland, or ability to obtain within 6 months
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, GIS, and stormwater modeling software
  • Familiarity with Maryland stormwater regulations and design standards
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
