Overview
We are partnered with a global provider of critical infrastructure solutions seeking a Lead Structural Engineer to support the design, development, and delivery of modular building and data center solutions. This role blends front-end concept development with detailed engineering execution and close collaboration across manufacturing, construction, and customer-facing teams.
The position offers strong exposure to complex structural systems, interdisciplinary coordination, and project ownership from early design through fabrication and installation.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the lead structural engineer for modular and building-based solutions from concept through construction documentation
- Deliver conceptual, schematic, detailed, and construction-level structural designs that meet performance, quality, and budget requirements
- Perform and review static and dynamic analyses, including blast, impact, and load calculations where required
- Design foundations and structural interfaces to support modular and prefabricated systems
- Coordinate closely with mechanical and civil engineers on thermal performance, fire ratings, and structural integration
- Interface with local authorities and governing agencies to ensure compliance with applicable building codes and regulations
- Review and approve structural submittals, calculations, and technical documentation
- Develop and define specifications related to welding, inspection, nondestructive examination, coatings, and surface preparation
- Produce testing procedures including dimensional checks, structural load tests, and validation plans
- Support material selection and fabrication requirements in collaboration with internal teams, partners, and vendors
- Manage external engineering consultants and support the creation of factory and construction documentation
- Provide technical support during fabrication, construction, and installation phases
- Conduct site or factory visits as needed for design validation, quality reviews, and workmanship assessments
- Participate in direct technical discussions with customers to ensure solutions align with functional and performance needs
- Contribute creative engineering solutions that improve constructability, cost efficiency, and long-term reliability
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree Structural Engineering or equivalent practical experience
- Professional Engineer license
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in structural engineering roles
- Strong proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit
- Experience producing and reviewing construction drawings and engineering calculations
- Solid understanding of U.S. building codes and industry standards
- Comfortable working with multidisciplinary engineering and manufacturing teams
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Demonstrated leadership, problem-solving, and project coordination experience
- Highly detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple deliverables
