A nationally recognized structural engineering firm with a rapidly growing Mission Critical practice is seeking a Structural Project Manager to lead complex projects across Texas, supporting work through their Dallas, Houston, Austin, and San Antonio offices. With an international footprint, the firm is known for delivering resilient, high‑performance structural solutions across commercial, aviation, healthcare, and critical‑infrastructure markets.

Driven by strong demand for data centers and digital infrastructure, the firm is expanding its Mission Critical leadership team and is looking for experienced professionals who can own projects end‑to‑end, serving as the primary point of accountability for delivery, coordination, and client satisfaction.

Position Summary

The Structural Project Manager will lead the planning, execution, and delivery of medium‑ to large‑scale Mission Critical facilities across Texas. This role bridges technical oversight with project leadership, ensuring projects meet scope, schedule, budget, and quality expectations while maintaining strong client relationships.

Key Responsibilities

Project Management & Delivery

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned Mission Critical projects
  • Manage project scope, schedules, budgets, and staffing plans
  • Lead multidisciplinary coordination with MEP, architectural, and construction partners
  • Proactively identify risks and implement mitigation strategies
  • Ensure technical deliverables align with project goals and client expectations
  • Track progress and performance against project milestones

Technical Oversight

  • Oversee structural design execution under the Engineer of Record
  • Review calculations, drawings, and specifications for quality and consistency
  • Support system selection and structural approach decisions
  • Ensure compliance with applicable codes and Mission Critical performance criteria
  • Provide guidance to project engineers and designers

Team Leadership

  • Lead and mentor project engineers and support staff
  • Coordinate workloads across Texas offices as needed
  • Facilitate design charrettes and internal working sessions
  • Contribute to staff development, coaching, and performance feedback

Client & Stakeholder Management

  • Lead client, consultant, and contractor meetings
  • Manage client expectations and communication throughout the project lifecycle
  • Document decisions, action items, and project changes
  • Support long‑term client relationships and repeat business opportunities

Construction Phase Support

  • Oversee construction administration efforts including RFIs, submittals, and site visits
  • Coordinate issue resolution with contractors and consultants
  • Maintain schedule and quality during fast‑tracked construction phases

Business Development Support

  • Assist with proposals, interviews, and pursuit strategies
  • Support account growth across Texas Mission Critical clients
  • Participate in industry events and networking activities

Qualifications

Education & Licensing

  • BS in Civil, Structural or Architectural Engineering (structural emphasis required)
  • MS in Structural Engineering preferred
  • PE preferred
  • SE license a plus

Experience

  • 5+ years of structural engineering experience
  • Demonstrated experience leading projects or significant workstreams
  • Prior exposure to Mission Critical, data center, or fast‑paced commercial projects strongly preferred
