[SYD] Assistant Project Manager - Retail

Location: Sydney

We are hiring an Assistant Project Manager (APM) to support construction and facilities‑related projects within a growing consultancy environment. This role will focus on planning, coordination, and operational support across retail fit‑outs, building construction, and facilities management. As part of an expanding team, the APM will work closely with senior leadership on upcoming project wins, support day‑to‑day project delivery, and assist with client and contractor coordination.

Responsibilities

  • Support project planning, execution, and coordination across retail fit‑outs, building construction, and facilities management projects.
  • Assist in managing schedules, documentation, procurement activities, and contractor workflows.
  • Facilitate communication between internal teams, consultants, and external stakeholders.
  • Oversee day‑to‑day operational activities, including site coordination and FM‑related tasks.
  • Prepare reports, track progress, and support issue resolution throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Work closely with senior leadership, including the Managing Director and project directors, on ongoing and upcoming project proposals.
  • Participate in client meetings, internal reviews, and cross‑office collaboration when required.
  • Support regional coordination and potential short‑term secondments depending on project needs.

Requirements

  • Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related built‑environment discipline.
  • Experience in building construction, retail fit‑outs, or facilities management (APM‑level experience acceptable).
  • Strong organisational, coordination, and stakeholder‑management skills.
  • Ability to work in both operational and project‑delivery capacities (mix of FM + PM).
  • Comfortable working in a consultancy environment with multiple ongoing proposals.
  • Willingness to work with local/regional teams, with occasional short‑term travel or secondment if required.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate closely with senior leadership.
