Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Systems Specialist to join our Smart Buildings team in San Antonio. This role focuses on the installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintenance of building automation systems (BAS) for commercial and institutional facilities. You will ensure systems operate efficiently, safely, and in compliance with project specifications, helping customers reduce energy costs and improve sustainability.
Key Responsibilities:
Installation & Commissioning:
- Install, start up, and commission distributed digital control systems for HVAC and other building automation components.
- Verify system database and programming for accuracy and compliance with scope of work.
System Configuration & Networking:
- Assist with PC workstation setup, user interface configuration, and network performance validation.
- Perform data backups and create automated backup procedures.
Testing & Documentation:
- Conduct operational testing, verification, and acceptance inspections.
- Prepare and submit detailed commissioning reports and as-built documentation.
Customer Support & Training:
- Provide end-user training on BAS operations.
- Respond to service calls and troubleshoot system inconsistencies.
Coordination & Compliance:
- Collaborate with technicians and contractors to schedule startup services.
- Adhere to OSHA and corporate safety standards during all activities.
Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; Associate's or technical degree preferred.
- Experience:
- 3+ years in building automation, HVAC controls, or related field.
- Skills:
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and BAS software tools.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to work in varied environments (mechanical rooms, rooftops, ladders).
