AV Design Engineer 3 - Fayetteville

We are seeking an experienced AV Design Engineer to join our team focused on security and electronic systems. This role involves designing, engineering, integrating, and maintaining advanced electronic security and audio-visual systems for a variety of clients, including federal, local, and commercial organizations.


Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with system engineers to make design decisions and provide technical direction across multiple projects
  • Design hardware and software frameworks for large, complex, and resilient AV systems
  • Create drawing packages and bills of materials using CAD tools
  • Design and test videoconferencing and integrated AV technologies (control systems, video walls, displays, audio reinforcement, streaming technologies, etc.)
  • Develop AV systems using Crestron, AMX, and Extron control platforms
  • Conduct site surveys and provide sales engineering support, including requirements gathering and cost estimation
  • Troubleshoot network and telecommunications systems, including IP and ISDN networks
  • Interpret plans and specifications to ensure compliance with project requirements
  • Develop test plans for AV control systems and conduct functional acceptance tests
  • Provide on-site user and administrative training for installed systems

Qualifications

  • U.S. Citizenship required; ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related discipline with 5+ years of experience (or Master's with 3+ years)
  • Experience designing and implementing AV systems and related infrastructure
  • Strong knowledge of videoconferencing standards and AV integration practices
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD or similar drafting software
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documentation
  • Demonstrated experience in cost estimation, project planning, and team collaboration
  • Strong oral, written, and presentation skills, including communication with executive leadership
  • Ability to travel up to 20%, including internationally
