Building Automation Specialist
We are seeking a Building Automation Specialist to support the installation, start‑up, and ongoing performance of building automation systems across projects in Greater Boston. This role suits a technically capable controls professional with hands‑on experience who is looking to deepen their exposure to BAS projects and progress within a stable, quality‑focused environment.
This role sits with an established building automation and HVAC controls specialist delivering controls installation, commissioning, and support services across commercial and institutional buildings. The organisation works with proven technologies, invests in technical development, and prioritises long‑term relationships with both clients and employees.
- Install, configure, and support building automation and HVAC control systems on live projects
- Carry out system start‑up, point‑to‑point testing, and functional testing
- Diagnose and troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues within BAS environments
- Support commissioning activities and assist with system optimisation
- Interpret control drawings, sequences of operation, and technical documentation
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and field technicians on site
- Provide clear technical feedback and documentation following site activities
- Support service and warranty work where required
- Minimum of 2 years' experience working with building automation or HVAC controls systems
- Hands‑on experience with installation, start‑up, and troubleshooting
- Solid understanding of HVAC systems, control strategies, and field devices
- Ability to read and interpret control schematics and wiring diagrams
- Comfortable working on active construction or retrofit sites
- Strong problem‑solving skills and a practical, methodical approach
- Experience with JCI Metasys (preferred but not required)
- Exposure to other BAS platforms or DDC control systems
- Commissioning or service background within commercial buildings
- Familiarity with common protocols such as BACnet or Modbus
- Building Automation Systems (BAS / BMS)
- HVAC controls and field devices
- JCI Metasys (desirable)
- Based in Greater Boston
- Site‑based work across the local area
