A leading engineering and building consulting firm is seeking a Building Enclosure Project Manager to join its growing team in Nashville. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced building enclosure professional looking to take on a leadership role within a well-established practice serving clients across Tennessee and the broader Southeast.
The successful candidate will lead a variety of building enclosure consulting, forensic investigation, testing, and remediation projects while helping to strengthen client relationships and support continued regional growth. This role offers exposure to a diverse portfolio of commercial, healthcare, educational, industrial, multifamily, and mixed-use developments.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and deliver building enclosure consulting projects for both new construction and existing buildings.
- Conduct peer reviews of building enclosure designs, plans, specifications, and construction documents.
- Review architectural drawings, shop drawings, and submittals related to roofing, waterproofing, façades, glazing, and exterior wall systems.
- Perform and oversee field investigations, condition assessments, and quality assurance inspections.
- Lead air and water infiltration testing, enclosure performance evaluations, and commissioning activities.
- Provide construction-phase services, including site observations, contractor coordination, and field reporting.
- Investigate water intrusion issues, façade deficiencies, moisture-related failures, and other building enclosure performance concerns.
- Develop repair recommendations and remediation designs for existing structures.
- Prepare technical reports, proposals, and client deliverables.
- Build and maintain relationships with architects, owners, developers, contractors, and institutional clients.
- Assist with business development initiatives and support growth of the Nashville building enclosure practice.
- Mentor junior staff and contribute to technical development across the team.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Architectural Engineering, Civil Engineering, Construction Science, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in building enclosure consulting, building science, waterproofing, roofing, façade consulting, or forensic engineering.
- Strong understanding of building enclosure systems, moisture management, air barriers, waterproofing, roofing, glazing, and exterior wall assemblies.
- Experience managing projects from proposal through completion.
- Ability to review and interpret architectural drawings, specifications, and construction documentation.
- Strong technical writing, communication, and client management skills.
- Ability to perform field inspections, including work from ladders, roofs, scaffolding, and aerial lifts when required.
- Self-motivated professional with strong organizational and project management skills.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel throughout Tennessee and the Southeast as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional Engineer (PE), Registered Architect (RA), Registered Roof Consultant (RRC), Registered Roof Observer (RRO), or ability to obtain professional registration.
- Experience performing forensic investigations and water intrusion assessments.
- Familiarity with ASTM testing standards related to building enclosure performance.
- Experience with enclosure commissioning and quality assurance programs.
- Bluebeam proficiency.
- OSHA, fall protection, scaffold, or other relevant safety certifications.
