California Technical and Growth Lead - Water Treatment and Design
Key Responsibilities
- Lead technical delivery end-to-end: Direct water treatment and infrastructure assignments from early planning and conceptual design through detailed design and implementation support.
- Be a client-facing advisor: Build trust with established and prospective clients by providing practical guidance, clear communication, and strong technical judgment.
- Own technical oversight and design leadership: Provide direction and review for projects that may include groundwater systems, well outfitting/equipment, treatment processes, and related storage and conveyance infrastructure.
- Strengthen project performance: Promote quality management, identify and manage technical risk, and support continuous improvement in delivery methods and standards.
- Support growth and pursuits: Contribute to capture strategy, proposal development, and presentations; help position the team for repeat work and new opportunities.
- Mentor and develop talent: Coach early- and mid-career staff through technical guidance, feedback, and opportunities to grow their leadership and subject-matter skills.
- Collaborate across disciplines: Partner with project managers, planners, designers, and specialized technical staff to advance water, recycled water, and infrastructure investments.
- Contribute to practice leadership: Participate in regional and organization-wide planning, helping shape service offerings, technical excellence, and long-term growth.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, Mechanical, Chemical Engineering, or a closely related discipline (graduate degree preferred).
- Active Professional Engineer (PE) license in California and/or Oregon, or the ability to obtain licensure within a reasonable onboarding timeframe.
- 10+ years of relevant experience in water infrastructure and/or treatment with demonstrated technical depth and increasing project leadership responsibility.
- Proven ability to develop and maintain client relationships, including serving as a trusted technical partner.
- Experience acting as a technical lead and providing oversight/review of work produced by others.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; comfortable presenting technical concepts to varied audiences.
- Ability to work independently while also integrating effectively with a multi-disciplinary team.
- Willingness to travel periodically across California and the Pacific Northwest as project and client needs require.
