Civil Construction Superintendent
Construction Superintendent - Connecticut/ Massachusetts Region
A growing civil/environmental contracting firm based in Boston is seeking an experienced Superintendent to join its team for projects across Connecticut and New England. The company specializes in a variety of field operations including demolition, excavation, dredging, utility work, landfill capping, and closures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and supervise all field activities, including construction sequencing.
- Interpret project plans, specifications, and scope of work.
- Oversee daily construction operations and maintain documentation.
- Collaborate with the Project Manager to track job costs, invoice coding, and monthly reporting.
- Ensure subcontractor compliance with safety protocols; conduct weekly inspections and toolbox talks.
- Support incident investigations alongside the Safety Manager.
- Participate in project meetings and status updates.
- Train and mentor field personnel.
- Assist with project close-out and punch list completion.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Have a minimum of 5 years of experience as a Superintendent in civil/environmental construction.
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
- Strong ability to read and interpret construction documents.
- Effective communication and leadership skills.
- Experience with scheduling, cost control, and managing multiple crews/subcontractors.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Windows; basic surveying experience is a plus.
- Be highly motivated, possess a positive attitude, and be open to travel.
