About the Role

The Director of Data Center Engineering will serve as the technical cornerstone for major development projects-bridging strategy, design, permitting, and execution. You'll lead engineering efforts for both greenfield developments and complex modifications of existing assets, ensuring every facility is built on a scalable, compliant, and innovative foundation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own all engineering efforts for data center infrastructure across new developments and expansions.
  • Coordinate civil, structural, mechanical, and electrical disciplines to deliver integrated, cost-effective solutions.
  • Translate strategic inputs into actionable design programs and validate feasibility, cost, and timelines.
  • Provide technical oversight from site planning through execution to maintain design integrity.
  • Manage architectural and engineering consultants through conceptual design, permitting, and construction documentation.
  • Drive permitting strategies and ensure compliance with local codes and regulatory requirements.
  • Interface with legal, real estate, and construction teams to align technical deliverables with broader project milestones.

About You

  • 5-10 years of experience in data center, critical infrastructure, or industrial engineering roles.
  • Strong technical foundation across civil, structural, mechanical, and electrical systems.
  • Proven experience managing A&E consultants and delivering large-scale projects from concept to build-ready status.
  • Familiarity with AIA contracts, permitting processes, and jurisdictional reviews.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strategic mindset with a focus on execution, risk mitigation, and scalable design.
