A growing MEP consulting group is seeking an experienced Electrical Designer to support a wide range of commercial building projects. This permanent role is ideal for an engineering professional who delivers high‑quality design work, collaborates well with multidisciplinary teams, and is ready to take ownership of complex project scopes.
About the Role
In this position, you'll play a key role in designing and developing electrical systems for commercial facilities. You'll work closely with engineers, architects, and project stakeholders to deliver coordinated, code‑compliant, and innovative solutions that support project performance and client goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop electrical system layouts for commercial projects, including power, lighting, and low‑voltage systems
- Produce drawings, specifications, and documentation that meet project requirements and industry standards
- Perform calculations, analysis, and technical evaluations to ensure system integrity and efficiency
- Collaborate with cross‑disciplinary teams to deliver integrated and constructible design packages
- Ensure all designs comply with applicable codes, safety standards, and best practices
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (required)
- 10-15 years of experience in electrical design within commercial environments
- EIT or PE credentials are a strong plus
- Proficiency in electrical system design principles, codes, and industry standards
