We are supporting a leading offshore wind developer as they expand their in‑house engineering capability in Taiwan. They are looking for an experienced Electrical Protection Engineer to play a key role across design, testing and commissioning of offshore wind assets.

The Role

You will take ownership of electrical protection systems across offshore wind turbines, offshore substations and export / array systems, working closely with internal engineering teams and external partners.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading the design and optimisation of electrical protection schemes for offshore wind assets in line with international standards and safety requirements
  • Carrying out power system studies including fault level calculations, relay coordination and load flow analysis
  • Reviewing electrical designs for turbines, OSS, electrical platforms and subsea cable systems
  • Developing and executing protection testing, commissioning and relay configuration activities
  • Providing technical support during operation, maintenance and fault investigations
  • Producing and maintaining technical documentation such as protection settings, SLDs and operational manuals
  • Supporting compliance with applicable codes and standards, including participation in audits and inspections
  • Collaborating with project managers, electrical & mechanical engineers, and EPC / OEM partners to ensure smooth system integration
  • Reviewing Design Risk Assessments, HAZID and HAZOP studies related to offshore installation and equipment design

Your Background

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline
  • 5+ years' experience in electrical protection systems, ideally within offshore wind or large‑scale power generation
  • Hands‑on experience with protection relays and systems from vendors such as Siemens or Hitachi Energy
  • Strong understanding of protection principles, fault analysis and relay coordination
  • Familiarity with offshore wind electrical standards and grid compliance requirements
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot complex electrical issues
  • Comfortable working in multidisciplinary, international project teams
  • Strong communication skills in English
  • Willingness to travel to project sites when required
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and relevant power system analysis tools
  • Based in Taiwan or open to relocation
