We are seeking a Structural Forensic Engineer to join our client's Nashville office. This role involves investigating structural failures, assessing damage, and providing expert analysis for litigation, insurance claims, and remediation projects. You will work closely with architects, contractors, and legal professionals to deliver accurate, timely, and defensible findings.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct forensic investigations of structural systems, including buildings, bridges, and other infrastructure.
- Analyze causes of structural failures, deterioration, or damage.
- Prepare detailed technical reports and expert opinions for legal and insurance purposes.
- Perform site inspections, material testing coordination, and structural analysis using industry-standard software.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and provide testimony as an expert witness when required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (Master's preferred).
- Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
- 8+ years of experience in structural engineering; forensic experience highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of building codes, construction practices, and failure mechanisms.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience with litigation support and insurance claim evaluations.
- Familiarity with advanced structural analysis tools and modeling software.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines under pressure.
