HSE Manager - Data Center Contractor

Job Title: EHS / Safety Manager (Data Center Projects)

Location: Johor, Malaysia

Overview
A leading project delivery organization within the data center sector is seeking an experienced EHS / Safety Manager to oversee and drive safety excellence across project sites. This role will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing robust EHS systems to ensure full regulatory compliance and a safe working environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and continuously enhance site-wide EHS programs in line with organizational objectives
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable local EHS regulations and standards
  • EstablishandmaintainEHS management systems, including:
    • Safety inspections
    • Incident investigation and reporting
    • Training programs
    • Hazard identification, risk assessment, and control (HIRARC)
    • Emergency response preparedness
    • Machinery and industrial hygiene compliance
    • Environmental compliance
  • Monitor and drive progress towards EHS targets, providing clear direction to site teams
  • Lead and manage the EHS team, including capability development and addressing competency gaps
  • Provide technical EHS support to project teams on regulatory compliance, procedures, audits, and inspections
  • Act as the key liaison with regulatory authorities and support audit processes
  • Drive cross-functional collaboration to deliver EHS initiatives and improvements
  • Manage EHS documentation and ensure proper retention and compliance standards
  • Support additional EHS-related responsibilities as required

Requirements

  • Degree in Occupational Safety & Health or a related discipline
  • Minimum 10 years of EHS experience, including at least 5 years in a leadership/managerial role
  • Registered Safety & Health Officer (DOSH Green Book a must)
  • Involved in data center or large-scale infrastructure construction
  • Strong understanding of local safety, health, and environmental regulations
  • Proven ability to manage teams and engage stakeholders across a matrix organization
  • Strong communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia (both written and verbal)
  • Strong decision-making, problem-solving, and stress management capabilities
  • Ability to operate effectively in fast-paced, high-pressure project environments
