Senior Civil Project Manager- Mission Critical
We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead complex heavy civil construction projects within the mission critical / data center sector. This role is responsible for managing the full project lifecycle from preconstruction through closeout, ensuring successful delivery while leading high-performing teams and maintaining strong client relationships.
This is an onsite, project-based role with an immediate need in El Paso and future opportunities across the western U.S.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Planning & Execution
- Lead preconstruction efforts including bid review, contract analysis, and execution strategy
- Develop and manage project schedules in coordination with field leadership
- Oversee budgets covering labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractors
- Track cost forecasting, cost-to-complete, and overall financial performance
- Manage submittals, RFIs, and project documentation
Contract & Financial Management
- Prepare and manage subcontracts and vendor agreements
- Negotiate change orders and contract revisions
- Maintain Schedule of Values and oversee billing and invoicing processes
- Identify risks and implement recovery plans to maintain schedule and budget
Client & Stakeholder Management
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients and project stakeholders
- Lead meetings with engineers, subcontractors, and field teams
- Provide regular project updates to leadership and clients
- Build long-term client relationships to support future work
Field Coordination & Quality Control
- Work closely with Superintendents to drive productivity and schedule adherence
- Monitor quality, safety, and subcontractor performance
- Manage material tracking based on BOM and project requirements
- Implement corrective actions for delays or field challenges
Leadership & Team Development
- Lead, mentor, and develop Project Managers, APMs, and field personnel
- Foster a collaborative, safety-focused team environment
- Assist with staffing and resource planning across projects
Qualifications:
- 10+ years of heavy civil construction experience
- 5+ years in a project leadership role
- Experience on data center or mission critical projects preferred
- Strong background in budgeting, scheduling, and cost control
- Proficient with project management tools and Microsoft Excel
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Bachelor's degree preferred (or equivalent experience)
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel as required
