HVAC Controls Technician
Role Summary
We are seeking an experienced HVAC Controls Technician to support the installation, commissioning, servicing, and optimisation of building management and HVAC control systems. This role offers the opportunity to work across a varied portfolio of projects, contributing to reliable, efficient, and well-performing building systems.

Role Responsibilities
- Install, wire, and configure HVAC control panels, field devices, and associated equipment
- Commission HVAC control systems in line with specifications and design intent
- Carry out fault finding, diagnostics, and rectification on control systems and networks
- Support planned and reactive maintenance activities on live customer sites
- Interpret control schematics, drawings, and sequences of operation
- Work closely with project engineers, commissioning engineers, and site teams
- Ensure systems are delivered to required performance, quality, and safety standards
- Complete clear and accurate technical documentation and reports
- Provide technical support and advice to clients and internal stakeholders
Required Experience and Skills
- Proven experience working with HVAC controls or building management systems
- Good understanding of HVAC plant, control strategies, and system operation
- Ability to fault find electrical and controls issues using drawings and software tools
- Experience working on construction and live operational sites
- Comfortable working independently as well as part of a wider project team
- Strong attention to detail and a professional approach to site work
Additional or Desirable Experience
- Commissioning experience on BMS or HVAC control systems
- Exposure to integration protocols such as BACnet or Modbus
- Experience with service and maintenance contracts
- Knowledge of energy optimisation or system tuning
- Relevant technical qualifications or apprenticeships
Systems and Technologies
- Experience may include one or more of the following, though training can be provided:
- BMS and HVAC control platforms such as Tridium Niagara, Siemens, Schneider, Honeywell
- DDC controllers, sensors, actuators, and field devices
- Common building services plant including AHUs, FCUs, boilers, chillers, and heat pumps
Location, Travel, and Working Pattern
- This role is site-based with travel to customer locations as required. Specific details will vary by project.
