Lead Office Structural Engineer

Overview:

My client is seeking a highly experienced and licensed Senior Structural Engineer to lead their Las Vegas office. This leadership role is ideal for a motivated professional with a strong background in structural engineering for multifamily, residential, HOA, and commercial developments. The successful candidate will oversee project execution, mentor junior staff, and serve as a key liaison with clients and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage structural engineering projects from concept through construction.
  • Oversee and review structural analysis, design, and detailing for wood, steel, concrete, and masonry structures.
  • Serve as Engineer of Record (EOR) on projects and ensure compliance with local and national codes (IBC, ASCE, ACI, etc.).
  • Coordinate with architects, MEP engineers, contractors, and developers.
  • Supervise and mentor junior engineers and drafters, fostering technical growth and quality standards.
  • Conduct site visits, inspections, and forensic evaluations as needed.
  • Manage project budgets, schedules, and deliverables.
  • Represent the firm in client meetings, city planning sessions, and industry events.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
  • Active Nevada P.E. license required; SE license preferred.
  • 8+ years of structural engineering experience, including leadership roles.
  • Proven experience with multifamily, residential, and commercial projects in the Southwest U.S.
  • Proficiency in structural design software (e.g., RISA, RAM, ETABS, AutoCAD, Revit).
  • Strong leadership, communication, and project management skills.

Preferred Experience:

  • Familiarity with Las Vegas building codes, soil conditions, and permitting processes.
  • Experience working with HOAs and community development projects.
  • Business development or client relationship management experience is a plus.
