Lead Office Structural Engineer
Overview:
My client is seeking a highly experienced and licensed Senior Structural Engineer to lead their Las Vegas office. This leadership role is ideal for a motivated professional with a strong background in structural engineering for multifamily, residential, HOA, and commercial developments. The successful candidate will oversee project execution, mentor junior staff, and serve as a key liaison with clients and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage structural engineering projects from concept through construction.
- Oversee and review structural analysis, design, and detailing for wood, steel, concrete, and masonry structures.
- Serve as Engineer of Record (EOR) on projects and ensure compliance with local and national codes (IBC, ASCE, ACI, etc.).
- Coordinate with architects, MEP engineers, contractors, and developers.
- Supervise and mentor junior engineers and drafters, fostering technical growth and quality standards.
- Conduct site visits, inspections, and forensic evaluations as needed.
- Manage project budgets, schedules, and deliverables.
- Represent the firm in client meetings, city planning sessions, and industry events.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
- Active Nevada P.E. license required; SE license preferred.
- 8+ years of structural engineering experience, including leadership roles.
- Proven experience with multifamily, residential, and commercial projects in the Southwest U.S.
- Proficiency in structural design software (e.g., RISA, RAM, ETABS, AutoCAD, Revit).
- Strong leadership, communication, and project management skills.
Preferred Experience:
- Familiarity with Las Vegas building codes, soil conditions, and permitting processes.
- Experience working with HOAs and community development projects.
- Business development or client relationship management experience is a plus.
