Licensed Surveyor
Licensed Land Surveyor
A long‑established, family‑run surveying practice in Western Massachusetts is seeking a skilled survey professional to take on a key technical role with long‑term growth potential.
This steady firm has been operating for more than four decades and is known for its collaborative culture, consistent workload, and strong regional reputation. They're looking to bring in someone who can contribute immediately while gradually stepping into greater responsibility over time.
About the Role
This position is ideal for someone who values:
- A variety of project types
- Hands‑on technical work
- A team‑oriented culture
The firm completes the full spectrum of land surveying services-from boundary surveys to layout for large infrastructure-so each day brings different challenges and opportunities to deepen your skills.
Location
The firm is based in the 5‑College region of Western Massachusetts, an area known for its vibrant community, steady local economy, and beautiful surroundings with remarkably low natural disaster risk for New England.
What They're Looking For
- Massachusetts‑licensed PLS preferred
- LSITs on a clear path to licensure are encouraged to apply
- Experience with Carlson Survey is helpful
The immediate expectation is excellent technical work performed independently. Over time, the role will expand based on your strengths, interests, and fit with the team.
Potential Long‑Term Pathways
The owner is open to several future scenarios, depending on who joins:
- A gradual leadership handoff
- A period of shared leadership
- Eventual exploration of a buyout or ownership transition
This role is geared toward someone who wants to build a long‑term future in a stable, respected surveying practice rather than stepping into a firm that's aiming to scale rapidly or sell quickly.
This Could Be a Great Fit If You Want To:
- Work in a steady, well‑established surveying environment
- Avoid corporate bureaucracy
- Enjoy a wide variety of project types
- Collaborate in a small, close‑knit team
