Manager-Dir of Regulatory Affairs

A leading clean energy organization is seeking a Manager of Regulatory Affairs to join its External Affairs team. This role will execute, manage, monitor, and coordinate regulatory strategy and advocacy across designated U.S. regional electricity markets. Primary responsibilities include representing the organization in governance processes to optimize asset value, advocating for market evolution that promotes competition in wholesale energy markets, collaborating with internal stakeholders to identify and resolve issues within regional transmission organization (RTO) footprints, and supporting business development initiatives for future projects.


Primary Responsibilities

  • Execute the organization's regulatory strategy, including market design initiatives, interconnection activities, and evaluation of potential growth opportunities.
  • Manage and direct external consultants to ensure alignment with organizational goals.
  • Represent the organization within relevant trade associations.
  • Track and participate in key initiatives and legislative efforts at the state and local levels within assigned regions.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or advanced degree.
  • Experience in electricity generation or wholesale power markets.
  • Strong understanding of competitive power market principles.
  • Excellent analytical and interpersonal skills, with an entrepreneurial mindset and eagerness to grow within the role and team.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, capable of managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment with a focus on accuracy and cost‑effective execution.
  • Willingness to travel 20-30%.
  • Strong oral and written English communication skills.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment background check and financial credit check.

Compensation & Benefits

Base Salary Range: $120,000 - $150,000 (estimated). Actual salary will depend on experience, responsibilities, and office location.

Additional compensation and benefits include:

  • Annual discretionary bonus up to 25%, based on individual and organizational performance
  • Paid time off (PTO) of approximately 120 hours per year, plus up to 13 paid holidays
  • Comprehensive group benefits including medical, dental, and vision coverage; 401(k) plan with employer match; life insurance; short- and long‑term disability; parental leave; and flexible spending accounts

The salary range and benefits may be modified in the future at the organization's discretion.
