Mechanical Design Engineer

Position Overview:
The Mechanical Engineer will contribute to the design and delivery of complex HVAC systems for a variety of building types. The ideal candidate is technically proficient, passionate about sustainable design, and experienced in managing projects from concept through construction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop sustainable mechanical system concepts and communicate design options to clients and stakeholders
- Produce high-quality HVAC construction documents and technical specifications
- Perform engineering calculations, including heating and cooling load analysis
- Conduct building assessments and prepare due diligence reports
- Participate in construction administration, including site visits, punch lists, RFIs, and contractor coordination
- Mentor junior engineering staff and support their technical development
- Build and maintain strong client relationships through consistent project delivery
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Architectural Engineering
- 5+ years of relevant experience
- Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) preferred
- LEED Accreditation preferred
- Strong knowledge of NYC Building Code and NFPA standards
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, Microsoft Office, and HVAC simulation tools
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience across all project phases, from schematic design to construction administration
- Creative problem-solving abilities and a collaborative mindset
