Mechanical Engineer

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Licensed Mechanical Engineer (PE) to join our expanding MEP group. In this role, you will serve as a technical expert in HVAC and controls systems, contributing to multidisciplinary design projects focused on healthcare facilities.

You will be responsible for producing mechanical design and construction drawings, specifications, and supporting documentation, while collaborating closely with other engineering disciplines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as a technical expert in HVAC and control systems for healthcare facility design projects.
  • Develop mechanical design and construction drawings and specifications as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Perform technical evaluations of mechanical equipment and systems, including hydronic systems, steam systems and medical gas systems
  • Prepare design calculations, analyses, and assessment reports to support project requirements.
  • Complete engineering design tasks within budget and schedule constraints.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior staff, supporting their development in mechanical design practices.
  • Coordinate with project teams, including other disciplines, project managers, and client representatives to ensure efficient project execution.
  • Prepare technical reports, written correspondence, and documentation.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of applicable design standards, codes, and regulations.
  • Contribute to business development efforts by identifying and supporting opportunities for new work related to mechanical engineering in healthcare facilities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license, or ability to obtain licensure through reciprocity in a timely manner.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in mechanical engineering.
  • Demonstrated experience working on healthcare facility projects.
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, including hydronic, steam, and medical gas systems.
  • High level of technical proficiency and commitment to staying current with industry advancements.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work independently.
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable background record.
