Position Overview
We are seeking a Mid-Level Acoustic Consultant to support and lead project work across a diverse portfolio. This role is ideal for a motivated professional with a solid grounding in acoustics who is ready to take on greater responsibility in project delivery, client engagement, and technical design.
The successful candidate will work both independently and collaboratively to ensure high-quality acoustic outcomes aligned with client goals and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Project Delivery
- Lead and support acoustic consulting projects from concept through completion
- Perform acoustic calculations, modeling, and simulations (e.g., room acoustics, environmental noise, vibration)
- Prepare technical reports, specifications, and design recommendations
- Conduct site visits, measurements, and post-construction testing
Technical Expertise
- Apply knowledge of building acoustics, environmental noise, and architectural acoustics
- Use industry-standard modeling tools (e.g., CadnaA, Odeon, SoundPLAN, INSUL, or similar)
- Interpret and apply relevant codes, standards, and guidelines (e.g., ANSI, ISO, local regulations)
- Develop practical strategies to mitigate noise and vibration issues
Client & Stakeholder Engagement
- Serve as a technical point of contact for clients and project teams
- Communicate technical findings clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Contribute to proposals, presentations, and other business development efforts
Collaboration & Mentorship
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across design and construction
- Support knowledge sharing and continuous improvement initiatives
- Provide guidance to junior team members as needed
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Acoustics, Engineering, Physics, or a related field
- 3-6 years of relevant professional experience
- Strong understanding of acoustic principles and building acoustics
- Proficiency with acoustic modeling and analysis tools
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
Preferred
- Master's degree in Acoustics or related discipline
- Professional certifications (e.g., INCE Board Certification, IOA membership)
- Experience working within multidisciplinary project teams
- Familiarity with sustainability frameworks (e.g., LEED, WELL)
