Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled PLC Programmer to join our Dallas-based engineering team, supporting automation systems across mission-critical data center infrastructure. This role involves designing, programming, and maintaining PLC systems that control essential operations such as power distribution, HVAC, fire suppression, and building management systems (BMS). The ideal candidate will have a strong background in industrial automation and experience working in high-availability environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, test, and deploy PLC programs for data center systems including electrical switchgear, cooling systems, and environmental monitoring.
- Integrate PLCs with SCADA, BMS, and remote monitoring platforms.
- Collaborate with electrical, mechanical, and IT teams to ensure seamless system integration.
- Conduct system commissioning, troubleshooting, and performance optimization.
- Maintain accurate technical documentation including control logic, schematics, and system architecture.
- Ensure compliance with local codes, safety standards, and client specifications.
- Provide on-site and remote support for system maintenance and upgrades.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance system reliability and efficiency.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, Mechatronics, or related field.
- 3+ years of experience in PLC programming (e.g., Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Schneider Electric).
- Familiarity with Modbus, BACnet, OPC, and other industrial communication protocols.
- Experience in data center operations or other mission-critical environments.
- Strong understanding of electrical and mechanical systems.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and wiring diagrams.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Willingness to travel locally and occasionally to other data center sites.
