Heavy Civil Project Manager
Location: Eugene, OR
Salary Range: $115,000-$130,000 annually
Employment Type: Full-Time
A well-established general contractor is seeking an experienced Heavy Civil Project Manager to oversee earthwork and underground utility projects throughout the Eugene and surrounding areas. This role is responsible for managing projects from preconstruction through closeout, ensuring safety, quality, schedule, and financial performance are met or exceeded.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage heavy civil construction projects from award through completion
- Oversee budgets, schedules, cost tracking, and forecasting
- Coordinate with superintendents, field crews, subcontractors, owners, and inspectors
- Manage subcontractor procurement, contracts, and change orders
- Review and process submittals, RFIs, pay applications, and project documentation
- Track project progress and resolve issues related to scope, schedule, and cost
- Ensure compliance with safety programs, contract requirements, and project specifications
Experience Needed
- 5+ years of experience managing heavy civil construction projects
- Strong background in:
- Earthwork and mass grading
- Underground utilities (water, sewer, storm)
- Site development and infrastructure projects
- Experience managing public works and/or private civil projects
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects or complex scopes simultaneously
- Experience working with municipalities, inspectors, engineers, and utility agencies
Qualifications Required
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Strong understanding of civil plans, specifications, and construction means and methods
- Proficiency with construction management software and project controls
- Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills
- Ability to manage budgets, schedules, and subcontractors effectively
- Valid driver's license
