Project Manager - HVAC Controls/Building Automation

Position Overview
The HVAC Controls Project Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and delivering HVAC controls projects from inception to completion. This role ensures projects are executed on time, within budget, and meet quality standards while maintaining strong client relationships and managing technical teams.

Key Responsibilities


Project Planning & Execution

Develop detailed project plans, schedules, and resource allocations.
Coordinate with engineering, procurement, and installation teams to ensure timely delivery.

Financial Management

Prepare cost estimates, budgets, and monitor financial performance.
Manage change orders and ensure profitability targets are met.

Technical Oversight

Review HVAC control system designs and sequences of operation.
Ensure compliance with specifications, codes, and standards.

Team Leadership & Coordination

Lead project teams, including engineers, technicians, and subcontractors.
Facilitate communication between internal teams and external stakeholders.

Client & Stakeholder Management

Serve as the primary point of contact for clients throughout the project lifecycle.
Provide regular updates and resolve issues promptly.

Quality Assurance & Commissioning

Oversee system commissioning and functional testing.
Ensure documentation and close-out requirements are completed accurately.


Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Building Services, or related field.
Experience:

5+ years in HVAC controls or building automation project management.
Proven track record managing multiple projects simultaneously.


Skills:

Strong knowledge of HVAC systems and control strategies.
Familiarity with BAS platforms (e.g., Tridium Niagara, Siemens, Johnson Controls).
Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
