Safety Coordinator
Project Summary
A large-scale infrastructure development project is seeking a qualified Safety Coordinator to support the implementation and oversight of safety and environmental protocols. This role involves working closely with project leadership and field teams to ensure compliance with internal standards and regulatory requirements, while fostering a proactive safety culture across the job site.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with project leadership to develop and implement tailored EHS plans that align with organizational safety frameworks.
- Coordinate safety efforts among subcontractors to ensure consistent application of risk mitigation strategies and incident prevention measures.
- Conduct routine inspections and quarterly audits to verify adherence to safety regulations, internal policies, and best practices.
- Lead investigations into workplace incidents, prepare detailed reports, and ensure appropriate medical response and follow-up.
- Provide guidance on industrial hygiene practices and conduct environmental assessments as needed.
- Administer the organization's substance-free workplace policy, including oversight of testing procedures for employment and incident-related scenarios.
- Deliver safety training programs, including onboarding for new personnel and ongoing education for existing staff.
- Monitor safety performance metrics and provide regular updates to project leadership.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction safety, particularly in large-scale or heavy civil environments.
- Ability to work independently and communicate effectively with diverse teams.
- Demonstrated experience in implementing corrective actions and promoting safe work behaviors.
- Certification as a CHST or CSP.
- Current First Aid/CPR/AED certification.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA construction safety standards.
- Professional demeanor with the ability to manage sensitive information.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

- Strong hazard recognition and risk assessment capabilities.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced environment, including extended hours, nights, or weekends when required.
Compensation
- Salary Range: $105,000 - $115,000 annually
Work Environment
- Occasional travel may be required.
- Work includes both office and field settings, with exposure to varying weather conditions.
- Must be able to stand, walk, sit, and climb stairs or ladders as needed.
- Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as hard hats, safety glasses, and high-visibility vests is required on-site.
- Fast-paced and dynamic work environment.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
- Frequent walking and standing in both office and field environments.
- Occasional climbing and bending required.
