Location: Manhattan, NY (Hybrid - 3 days in office, 2 days remote)
Salary: $85,000-$100,000 base salary
Position Overview
We are seeking a Senior Environmental Professional to join our Manhattan-based team. This role is ideal for an experienced environmental consultant with a strong technical writing background and hands-on experience across Phase I and II Environmental Site Assessments, soil and groundwater investigations, and remediation projects. While the position is primarily office-based, it will include periodic field visits and site inspections.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and review technical reports, including Phase I and Phase II ESAs, remedial action plans, and investigation summaries
- Support soil and groundwater remediation projects from assessment through closure
- Conduct limited field activities such as soil sampling, groundwater sampling, and site inspections as needed
- Assist with brownfield redevelopment projects, including investigation and remediation support
- Interpret and apply NYSDEC and NYC environmental regulations and guidance
- Coordinate with internal teams, clients, and regulatory agencies
- Review laboratory data and develop data tables, figures, and conclusions for reports
- Provide technical support for project managers and senior leadership
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Geology, or a related field
- 5-6+ years of experience in the environmental consulting industry
- Strong experience with Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments
- Background in soil and groundwater remediation and environmental investigations
- Demonstrated technical writing skills with experience producing client-ready reports
- Familiarity with NYS and NYC environmental regulations and programs
- Experience with fieldwork, including soil and groundwater sampling and site assessments
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment
