An established environmental construction and remediation contractor is seeking an experienced Quality Assurance / Quality Control (QA/QC) Supervisor to support complex construction and remediation projects. Position Summary

The Quality Assurance / Quality Control Supervisor is a full‑time, travel‑based position responsible for managing and overseeing QA/QC activities on assigned construction and environmental remediation projects. Work will primarily involve landfill construction and landfill cap/closure projects at sites located throughout the United States.

This role focuses on ensuring compliance with project plans, specifications, applicable regulations, and industry standards. Responsibilities include field inspections, testing oversight, documentation review, and coordination with construction teams and project stakeholders.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide QA/QC oversight for landfill construction, landfill cap construction, and related environmental projects
  • Perform or oversee field density and geotechnical testing
  • Manage daily QC activities in alignment with construction schedules
  • Interpret and apply project plans, specifications, standards, and reference documents
  • Review construction drawings, shop drawings, and technical submittals
  • Verify materials, equipment, and workmanship meet contract requirements
  • Maintain logs for materials receipt, testing, and inspections
  • Prepare daily, weekly, and periodic QA/QC reports
  • Complete inspection and testing documentation accurately and on schedule
  • Conduct field inspections to identify deficiencies or non‑conforming work
  • Track corrective actions and verify timely resolution
  • Identify site safety concerns and coordinate mitigation efforts
  • Participate in project meetings as required
  • Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, and field personnel
  • Maintain QA/QC plans, logs, and quality records
  • Perform punch‑list, pre‑final, and final acceptance inspections

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction and/or environmental remediation
  • At least 3 years of QA/QC experience
  • Minimum of 3 years of QA/QC experience on landfill projects, including at least 1 year on landfill closure or final cover construction
  • At least 2 years of experience performing ASTM geotechnical field testing (e.g., soil classification, density, permeability)
  • Ability to obtain and maintain site access for regulated or secured projects
  • Working knowledge of construction site safety practices
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to prepare clear technical reports and interpret technical documents
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and common construction‑related software
  • Ability to pass background screening and drug testing

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience on federally funded or regulated projects
  • Construction Quality Management (CQM) certification
  • Familiarity with construction safety and risk management standards
  • Prior experience as a site superintendent or field supervisor
  • 40‑hour HAZWOPER certification and current refresher
  • OSHA Construction Safety training

Travel Requirements

  • Extensive travel required
  • Lodging and per diem provided during assignments
