Senior Water Resources Engineer / Project Manager

My client is expanding its civil engineering group and is seeking an experienced Senior Water Resources Engineer / Project Manager to join their Towson, MD office. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys leading technical design efforts, managing transportation‑related water resources projects, and working directly with public agency clients across Maryland and Virginia.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead and contribute to hydrologic and hydraulic analyses for transportation and municipal infrastructure projects.
- Produce and review calculations, technical reports, design plans, and permitting documentation for stormwater management, drainage systems, culverts, open channels, bridge hydraulics, and erosion & sediment control.
- Secure approvals from state and local regulatory agencies.
- Support the preparation of design documents including plans, specifications, and cost estimates.
- Collaborate with multi‑discipline design teams and coordinate project tasks across disciplines.
- Participate in meetings with clients, public agencies, and project partners.
- Conduct QA/QC reviews following internal and client-driven standards.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (Water Resources focus preferred).
- 7+ years of experience in water resources engineering, including plan and report production.
- Proficiency with common hydrology/hydraulics modeling tools (e.g., storm drainage, SWM, floodplain, bridge modeling).
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in Maryland or Virginia (additional southeastern states a plus).
- Experience using MicroStation/OpenRoads or comparable CADD platforms.
- Strong organizational skills and excellent written/verbal communication.
