Mechanical Service Technician
Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Service Technician to support the service, maintenance, repair, and optimization of HVAC and mechanical systems across healthcare and commercial facilities. This role is ideal for a hands-on professional with strong troubleshooting abilities and experience working in occupied environments where system reliability and customer service are critical.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on HVAC and mechanical systems.
- Troubleshoot and repair chillers, boilers, pumps, cooling towers, air handling units (AHUs), fan coil units (FCUs), VAV systems, and building automation controls.
- Respond to planned and emergency service calls while maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Conduct equipment start-ups, system testing, commissioning support, and operational assessments.
- Identify and recommend energy-saving opportunities, system upgrades, and long-term maintenance solutions.
- Complete service documentation, work orders, and inspection reports accurately and on time.
- Maintain compliance with all safety standards, healthcare regulations, and site-specific protocols.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with facility managers, engineers, and maintenance personnel.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience servicing commercial HVAC and mechanical systems.
- Strong knowledge of boilers, chillers, hydronic systems, HVAC controls, pumps, and related mechanical equipment.
- Experience working in healthcare, hospital, life sciences, or large commercial facilities preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, specifications, and control sequences.
- EPA Certification preferred.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Strong problem-solving skills and customer-focused approach.
