Staff Transmission Engineer
The team is seeking a Staff Overhead Transmission Line Engineer to support continued growth across its Transmission & Distribution portfolio.
Key responsibilities include:
- Lead and support engineering design for overhead transmission line projects
- Perform PLS-CADD modeling, line routing, and structure analysis
- Develop loading trees, design criteria, and sag-tension calculations
- Conduct wire blowout, swing angle, and clearance studies
- Support structure spotting and material/hardware selection
- Prepare construction drawings, specifications, and cost estimates
- Assist with field installation support as needed
This role also includes mentoring junior engineers and contributing to team development. There is a clear path toward stepping into a leadership position, including client-facing responsibilities and technical oversight of projects.
What They're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Electrical Engineering
- 3+ years of experience in overhead transmission line design (HV)
- Experience working across ~69kV-500kV projects preferred
- Familiarity with tools such as PLS-CADD, PLS-POLE, or similar
- EIT or PE (or progress toward licensure) strongly preferred
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and teamwork skills
