Survey Grading Design Specialist
A local multi-disciplinary engineering firm is looking to bring on a Survey Grading Design Specialist out of their Malvern or Warrington offices.
Primary Responsibilities
- Create precise 3D grading and surface models for a range of projects, including sites, roadways, utilities, and general infrastructure.
- Develop detailed 3D CAD representations, from grading and structural elements to custom assemblies, using engineering inputs.
- Build and manage Civil 3D elements such as surfaces, alignments, profiles, corridors, and grading components.
- Support design refinement through iterative modeling, reviews, and quality checks.
- Prepare construction-ready CAD deliverables, including plan sets and visual exhibits.
- Work closely with engineers, survey staff, and project teams to ensure models align with field data and project requirements.
- Help maintain CAD standards, templates, and layer controls to ensure consistent project output.
Position Requirements
- Solid hands-on experience working with Autodesk Civil 3D, ideally 3+ years.
- Background in producing complex site grading layouts and detailed surface models.
- Ability to build 3D design models, including structural elements, retaining features, site grading, and civil/mechanical interface components.
- Strong grasp of workflows related to site development, land planning, and infrastructure design.
- Capable of reviewing and interpreting engineering plans, survey information, and technical specifications.
- Strong communication abilities along with good organizational and time‑management skills.
Preferred Experience
- Exposure to working with survey datasets or GIS information.
- Education or experience in civil engineering, drafting, or a similar technical discipline.
- Understanding of corridor modeling, piping systems, feature line design, and related tools.
- Familiarity with BIM-related processes is considered an advantage.
