Water Resources Engineer - Mid Level (4-8 years of experience)
Qualifications:
- Ability to become licensed as a Professional Engineer or currently licensed
- Proven track record of teamwork with technical professionals
- Technical writing and communication skills
- Interest or experience in using various analysis and modeling software
- Self-motivated, engaged, and team-oriented with the ability to work independently
- Desire for continual personal growth and helping team members learn and grow
Responsibilities:
- Assist with planning, design, and construction of water resource projects
- Work with team leader and mentor to learn analysis, design, modeling software, and project management skills
- Perform detailed analysis and design related to hydrology and surface water projects (e.g., dams, rivers, canals, irrigation, storm drainage systems, roadway drainage, erosion control, hydraulic structures, flood protection)
- Perform detailed analysis and design related to water utility projects (e.g., culinary water storage tanks, primary and secondary water systems, pipelines, sewer collection systems, springs, wells, pump stations)
- Conduct water modeling and detailed calculations using various software and tools (e.g., ArcGIS, AutoCAD Civil 3D, HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, InfoWater, EPA-NET)
- Prepare technical documents, reports, exhibits, drawings, specifications, cost estimates
- Occasional travel by car to client and project sites
