Base salary trends in the APAC renewable energy sector show that 69% of professionals received a pay rise in 2025. The most common increase was between 1–5%, while 18% received increases of 6–10%, and 14% secured raises above 11%. These larger increases were often linked to promotions or project-driven pay adjustments.

Bonuses are common in APAC renewable energy roles, with 68% of surveyed professionals receiving one in the past year. The most frequent bonus range was worth 6–10% of respondents’ base salaries, while 18% were awarded a bonus worth more than 21%, showing that performance-based pay is a significant part of compensation.

The most frequently reported benefits for renewable energy professionals in APAC are travel allowances (37%), medical cover (36%), and additional pension contributions (26%). Despite these figures, 21% of surveyed professionals said they did not receive any benefits at all.

Annual and parental leave policies in APAC vary widely. Nearly half of surveyed renewable energy professionals in APAC (46%) receive 14–20 days of annual leave, while 23% receive fewer than 14 days. 

A third of respondents (33%) said their employer does not provide paid maternity or paternity leave, although international developers often offer more generous entitlements.

Flexible working is highly valued in APAC’s renewable energy sector. Survey results show that 72% of professionals have flexible hours and 74% can work remotely at least part of the week. While 78% consider flexible working important when evaluating a new role, 80% would still accept a full-time office or site-based role if other factors such as salary and career growth were attractive.

The main reasons renewable energy professionals in APAC change jobs are lack of career progression (44%), low base salary (43%), and poor work-life balance (37%). Professionals are attracted to new roles by higher base salaries (72%), better work-life balance (69%), and stronger benefits (52%).
