Aviation Project Engineer
An established engineering firm is seeking an experienced Aviation Project Manager to support aviation projects based out of its Savannah, GA office. Position Overview:
The Aviation Project Manager will oversee aviation engineering projects from start to finish, including scoping, design, scheduling, budgeting, resource management, quality control, and client relations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct engineering calculations and analysis for aviation and civil designs at general and regional aviation facilities, following Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) specifications.
- Serve as the primary client contact for project planning, scoping, scheduling, funding coordination, and subcontracting.
- Lead project teams to deliver high-quality services and deliverables on time and within budget.
- Prepare design documents, exhibits, and reports using MicroStation and OpenRoads design software.
- Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D is also valuable for design and production across the organization.
- Ensure quality control and assurance standards are met throughout the development of drawings, specifications, and reports.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related field preferred.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in Georgia required.
- 6-10 years of experience in aviation or civil engineering, with familiarity in FAA/GDOT aviation projects.
- Strong proficiency in MicroStation preferred; AutoCAD Civil 3D skills also acceptable.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to maintain records and prepare reports and documentation.
- Valid driver's license required; occasional travel to project sites is expected.
