Building Automation Project Manager
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly organized and technically proficient Building Automation Project Manager to oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of building automation system (BAS) projects. This role involves coordinating with cross-functional teams, managing budgets and timelines, and ensuring that all systems are installed and functioning according to design specifications and client expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Planning & Execution
- Develop detailed project plans, including scope, schedule, and resource allocation.
- Coordinate with engineering, installation, and commissioning teams.
- Ensure compliance with building codes, safety regulations, and company standards.
Client & Stakeholder Management
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients throughout the project lifecycle.
- Conduct regular status meetings and provide progress reports.
- Manage change orders and client expectations effectively.
Technical Oversight
- Review and interpret BAS design documents, control drawings, and specifications.
- Oversee system integration, programming, and commissioning.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues during installation and startup.
Budget & Risk Management
- Monitor project budgets and control costs.
- Identify and mitigate project risks and delays.
- Ensure timely procurement of materials and subcontractor services.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
- Up to 5 years of experience in building automation, HVAC controls, or related project management.
- Strong knowledge of BAS platforms (e.g., Siemens, Johnson Controls, Honeywell, Trane, etc.).
- Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera, or similar).
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
- PMP certification is a plus.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with energy management systems and smart building technologies.
- Familiarity with BACnet, Modbus, and other communication protocols.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical schematics.
