A leading national building enclosure consulting and building science firm is seeking a Building Enclosure Consultant / Project Manager to join its growing team in San Antonio. This is an excellent opportunity to work on a diverse mix of new construction, forensic investigation, commissioning, rehabilitation, and restoration projects while collaborating with industry-leading building envelope experts.

The successful candidate will play a key role in project delivery, client relationship management, technical consulting, and business growth while gaining exposure to some of the region's most complex and high-profile projects.

About the Opportunity

This position offers the chance to work across a broad range of building types including healthcare, higher education, commercial, mixed-use, multifamily, government, and institutional facilities. The team provides consulting services related to building enclosure design review, commissioning, field testing, forensic investigations, and construction quality assurance. [cv | PDF]

Key Responsibilities

  • Review architectural drawings, specifications, shop drawings, and building enclosure submittals
  • Perform building enclosure design consulting and peer reviews
  • Conduct field testing related to air and water infiltration performance
  • Complete site observations and construction administration services
  • Investigate building envelope failures, water intrusion issues, and performance deficiencies
  • Develop repair and remediation recommendations
  • Manage projects from proposal through completion
  • Prepare detailed technical reports and client deliverables
  • Collaborate with architects, contractors, engineers, and property owners
  • Support client development and business growth initiatives
  • Provide technical guidance to junior team members

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Architectural Engineering, Building Science, or a related field

OR

  • Significant industry experience in building enclosure consulting, testing, construction, restoration, or forensic investigations

Additionally, candidates should possess:

  • Strong understanding of building envelope systems and construction methods
  • Experience managing technical consulting projects
  • Ability to read and interpret construction documents
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organisational and time management abilities
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Valid driver's licence
  • Ability to travel as project requirements dictate

Preferred Qualifications

  • PE, RA, RRC, RRO, CBECxP or similar professional registration/certification
  • Building enclosure consulting experience
  • Building enclosure commissioning experience
  • Forensic investigation and leak assessment experience
  • Knowledge of ASTM testing procedures
  • Experience with roofing, waterproofing, glazing, façade, curtain wall, masonry, or cladding systems
  • Bluebeam proficiency
  • OSHA, scaffold, lift, or other relevant safety certifications
