About the Role
We are seeking a Building Enclosure Consultant to join a growing consulting team in Seattle, Washington. This role will focus on the analysis, design, testing, and evaluation of building enclosure systems across a diverse portfolio of project types, including commercial, residential, institutional, and mixed‑use buildings. The ideal candidate is technically curious, detail‑oriented, and motivated to grow within the building science and enclosure consulting space.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide consulting services related to building enclosure systems, including walls, roofs, waterproofing, fenestration, air barriers, and curtain wall systems
- Perform field investigations, site observations, and performance testing, including water penetration testing, air leakage testing, and infrared thermography
- Conduct condition assessments and forensic investigations related to moisture intrusion, air leakage, and thermal performance issues
- Assist with design development, construction document review, and peer review of enclosure details
- Prepare technical reports, field observation reports, and recommendations for repair or remediation
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, contractors, owners, and internal project teams throughout all phases of a project
- Support construction administration activities, including submittal review and on‑site inspections
- Stay current with evolving codes, standards, and best practices related to building enclosure performance and sustainability
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Building Science, or a related discipline
- 3+ years of experience in building enclosure consulting, facade engineering, waterproofing consulting, or related technical roles
- Strong understanding of building science principles, including moisture management, thermal performance, and air control
- Experience with field testing procedures and ASTM standards is highly desirable
- Professional licensure (PE, RA) or progress toward licensure is a plus
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce clear and concise technical documentation
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a consulting environment
