Civil Cad Drafter | New Jersey
My client is looking to add a CAD Drafter to their Civil/Site team within their New Jersey offices.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce and update civil/site design drawings and construction plans utilizing AutoCAD Civil 3D
- Support the development of site designs, including grading, utilities, roadway alignments, drainage systems, erosion control measures, and landscape layouts under the guidance of engineering staff
- Translate markups and redline feedback into accurate, finalized drawings
- Generate plan sheets, profiles, and detailed drawings for land development and public infrastructure projects
- Contribute to the preparation of stormwater management plans, permit submissions, and associated documentation
- Collaborate with engineers, surveyors, planners, and other team members to ensure alignment across project deliverables
- Perform quality checks on drawings to ensure precision, completeness, and adherence to internal drafting standards
- Maintain organized project files, drawing logs, and digital records
- Leverage survey information, GIS data, and aerial imagery in the drafting and design process
- Assist with quantity takeoffs and the development of construction details when required
- Manage workload across multiple active assignments while meeting project timelines
Qualifications
- Associate's degree, technical diploma, or comparable experience in CAD Drafting, Engineering Technology, or a related discipline
- At least 3 years of experience preparing civil/site drawings within an engineering environment
- Strong proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D
- Exposure to site development projects involving grading, utilities, drainage, and roadway design preferred
- Ability to read and interpret engineering plans, technical specifications, and survey data
- Experience supporting a variety of project types such as municipal, commercial, residential, or institutional developments
- Familiarity with New Jersey regulatory standards and approval processes
- Prior experience within a consulting engineering firm environment
