Offshore DCS Engineer - DeltaV / INFI90
Location: Offshore (Santa Barbara, CA)
Rotation: 2 Weeks On / 2 Weeks Off or 3 Weeks On / 1 Week Off
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced DCS Engineer to support offshore oil and gas operations off the coast of Santa Barbara. This role focuses on maintaining, programming, and optimizing distributed control systems in a live production environment. The position operates on a rotational offshore schedule and offers consistent long‑term work with travel fully covered.
This is an ideal opportunity for someone with strong hands‑on DCS experience who enjoys working offshore and troubleshooting critical control systems in real time.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, modify, and troubleshoot control logic within DeltaV or INFI90 DCS platforms
- Support ongoing operations, including system optimization and performance improvements
- Diagnose and resolve control system issues impacting production and safety
- Interface with operations, maintenance, and engineering teams offshore
- Support system upgrades, testing, and implementation activities
- Participate in commissioning and validation of control system changes
- Ensure all work aligns with operational, safety, and regulatory requirements
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience working with DCS systems in oil & gas or industrial environments
- Strong hands‑on experience with Emerson DeltaV and/or INFI90 systems (required)
- Experience working in offshore or remote industrial environments is highly preferred
- Solid understanding of process control, instrumentation, and system integration
- Strong troubleshooting skills in live production environments
- Ability to work independently while collaborating with cross‑functional teams
Schedule & Travel
- Rotational schedule: 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off or 3 weeks on / 1 week off
- Offshore work environment located off the coast of Santa Barbara
- All travel and flights are fully covered
Compensation
- $80+ per hour, depending on experience and system expertise
- Consistent rotational work with strong earning potential
