E.I.T Building Envelope
Role Overview
As a Building Envelope E.I.T, you will support the design, analysis, and consulting services for exterior systems under the mentorship of senior engineers. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in building science and advance toward professional licensure.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the design and detailing of building envelope systems (roofing, cladding, fenestration, waterproofing).
- Conduct thermal, moisture, and air infiltration analysis using tools like THERM and WUFI.
- Participate in field investigations, condition assessments, and construction site reviews.
- Prepare technical reports, drawings, and specifications for envelope components.
- Collaborate with architects, contractors, and other engineering disciplines to ensure compliance with codes and performance standards.
- Support energy modeling and sustainability initiatives for high-performance buildings.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or related field.
- E.I.T certification
- Knowledge of building science principles, materials, and construction methods.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and/or building envelope analysis software.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Detail-oriented with problem-solving abilities.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with energy modeling and sustainability certifications (LEED, Passive House).
- Familiarity with ASTM and AAMA testing standards.
- Previous internship or co-op experience in building envelope consulting or design.
