Role Summary -
The team is seeking a Regional Practice Lead to expand and oversee Environmental Compliance & EHS services throughout Florida. The position may be based at one of the following locations:
- Tampa, FL
- Orlando, FL
- Miami, FL
- Fort Lauderdale, FL
- West Palm Beach, FL
- Jacksonville, FL
This role blends technical leadership, regulatory strategy, client engagement, and practice growth-ideal for someone with a strong entrepreneurial mindset and deep compliance expertise.
Key Responsibilities -
- Lead environmental compliance projects from proposal through completion, ensuring technical quality, schedule adherence, and budget management.
- Oversee multi‑media compliance submissions across air, wastewater, stormwater, waste, SPCC, storage tanks, and EPCRA (Tier II, TRI).
- Develop permitting strategies for industrial and commercial development projects-including manufacturing, chemical, warehousing, and data center facilities.
- Serve as a senior EHS subject‑matter expert for audits, regulatory interpretation, enforcement support, and permit negotiations.
- Provide advanced technical review to ensure accuracy, regulatory alignment, and clarity of major deliverables.
- Build, develop, and mentor the Florida‑based environmental compliance team.
- Collaborate with national compliance experts to expand capabilities and strengthen the firm's technical presence.
- Support strategic business development, client relationships, and market expansion.
Qualifications -
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field (required).
- Master's degree preferred in a relevant engineering or environmental discipline.
Experience -
- 10+ years of experience in environmental compliance/EHS, including significant project leadership.
- Prior consulting experience within an environmental or engineering consulting firm.
- Demonstrated success with business development, client growth, or expansion of service lines.
- Extensive experience with multi‑media regulatory programs (air, water, waste, SPCC, tanks, EPCRA).
- Experience supporting regulatory negotiations, audits, enforcement matters, and complex permitting.
- Possess reliable transportation for client meetings and job site visits and a valid driver's license in good standing.
- Strong ability to design and implement regulatory strategies aligned with project goals.
- Skilled in mentorship, team development, and staff leadership.
- Knowledge of Federal, Florida (state and county-level) environmental regulations and obligations. Industrial health and safety knowledge/experience is a plus.
- Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
Preferred -
- Professional certifications such as PE, CHMM, CSP.
- Background in growing a regional practice or leading multi‑office environmental teams.
- Experience supporting industrial development projects.
Compensation & Benefits
- Base Salary - $140,000 - $200,000 (depending on experience and qualifications)
- Annual Bonus Structure included as part of total compensation
