EPC Business Development Manager/Director

Position Summary

Our client is seeking a highly motivated and strategic Business Development Manager to lead growth in their EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) services division. This is a high-impact, strategic hire designed to capitalize on a unique and time-sensitive market opportunity in the North American renewable energy sector. The ideal candidate will bring deep industry expertise, a strong network, and the ability to immediately contribute to sales and contract execution.


Key Responsibilities

Market Development & Strategy

  • Identify and prioritize EPC opportunities in solar and solar-plus-storage across North America.
  • Develop and execute go-to-market strategies targeting IPPs, developers, and large power users.

Client Engagement & Sales

  • Build and maintain relationships with key decision-makers at solar developers, utilities, C&I clients, and government agencies.
  • Own the full sales cycle-from lead generation and RFP response through contract negotiation and closing.
  • Leverage your network to generate and convert leads into EPC contract opportunities.

Proposal & Technical Coordination

  • Lead proposal development and presentations, collaborating with estimating, engineering, and project management teams.
  • Ensure accurate pricing, scope definition, and risk mitigation in bids.
  • Help establish internal procedures for bidding and project execution.

Partnership & Pipeline Development

  • Collaborate with procurement to build partnerships with vendors, subcontractors, and financial stakeholders.
  • Maintain and grow a robust sales pipeline to support quarterly and annual revenue goals.

Industry Insights

  • Stay ahead of regulatory changes and market trends.
  • Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and client meetings.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Renewable Energy, or related field (MBA or technical master's preferred).
  • 4-6 years of experience in solar EPC or utility-scale solar business development.
  • Proven success in securing EPC contracts.
  • Strong understanding of solar PV system design, permitting, interconnection, and construction.
  • Familiarity with storage integration, PPA structures, and incentive programs.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
  • Willingness to travel up to 50%.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Existing client network in the U.S. solar development or IPP space.
  • Experience with CRM platforms like Salesforce or HubSpot.
  • Technical fluency in PV system components, BOS equipment, and inverter technologies.
