Our client operates in the hydropower equipment and services sector, supporting commissioning, upgrade, and lifecycle service activities for hydropower plants across Southeast Asia.
The Role
We are looking for an Electrical & Automation Field Service Engineer to support commissioning, troubleshooting, and service activities on hydropower generation assets. This is a site‑based role, focused on electrical and control systems during commissioning, modernisation, and outage works.
The role requires engineers who are comfortable taking technical ownership on site and working closely with plant operators, commissioning teams, and clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Commission and troubleshoot generator protection systems
- Perform commissioning, testing, and tuning of excitation systems (AVR)
- Support commissioning and validation of hydropower turbine governors
- Execute FAT, SAT, and on‑site commissioning activities
- Diagnose and resolve electrical, control, and system trip issues
- Support retrofit, rehabilitation, and modernisation projects
- Interface with mechanical, commissioning, and client teams on site
- Prepare commissioning reports, test documentation, and handover dossiers
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and technical standards
