Highway Section Head
Position Overview:
A well-established engineering and infrastructure consulting firm is seeking a Highway Section Head to lead its transportation design team in Lexington. This leadership role involves overseeing the planning, design, and delivery of highway and roadway projects, while mentoring staff and supporting business development initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the highway design section, including staff supervision, project oversight, and resource allocation.
- Oversee the design of transportation infrastructure such as pavements, sidewalks, trails, drainage systems, culverts, and signage.
- Ensure compliance with engineering standards, client specifications, and regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate with clients, stakeholders, and internal teams to deliver high-quality projects on time and within budget.
- Support proposal development and client presentations to secure new work.
- Foster a collaborative and innovative team environment.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in Kentucky required.
- 10+ years of experience in highway and roadway design, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
- Proficiency in design software such as MicroStation, OpenRoads Designer, and AutoCAD Civil 3D.
- Strong communication, leadership, and project management skills.
- Experience with KYTC projects is highly desirable.
